WHY PORCELAIN SLABS
Why choose porcelain slabs for shower walls
A tiled shower can have hundreds of feet of grout lines to seal and scrub. A porcelain slab shower covers each wall in one or two large pieces.
Few seams, almost no grout
Slabs up to 126″ × 63″ cover most shower walls in one or two pieces.
Maintenance-free
Porcelain is non-porous: no sealing, no refinishing and less for mildew to grow in. Everyday cleaning is all it needs.
The marble look
Calacatta, Statuarietto and Nero Marquina looks without the etching and staining of real marble.

Frequently asked questions
Are porcelain slab showers worth it compared to tile?
Slabs cost more in material than tile, but they install faster and remove almost all grout, which is where most shower cleaning and mildew problems come from. Tile still makes sense for patterns, mosaics and tight budgets.
Do porcelain shower walls need sealing?
No. Porcelain is non-porous, so there is no sealer to apply or maintain.
How many seams will my shower have?
Usually one or two per wall, depending on the wall size and where the niche and bench sit. We show you the seam and vein layout before cutting.
Can you add a niche or a bench?
Yes. We build recessed niches and benches from the same slab so the veining continues.
Can porcelain go over existing tile?
Sometimes. It depends on the condition and flatness of the walls. We check when we template and tell you if anything needs to be removed or prepared first.
How long does installation take?
Installation usually takes place about a week after templating.
